Today, on our 2023 Chevy Colorado we're gonna be showing you how to install the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty trailer brake controller, which comes included with the universal harness that you're gonna need to get it set up. But before we get into all that, let's just take a minute, we'll check this out and make sure it's gonna be the right brake controller for you. For those of you pulling trailers around that have brakes on 'em, you're gonna need a way to apply those brakes, that way, you're not just solely relying on your Colorado to do all the stopping. Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. This is what the finished install is gonna look like, just this very small dial that lets you control the power level anywhere from 10 all the way down to 0. And the button on here is gonna be your manual override. If you're familiar with traditional brake controllers, maybe something like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, they're pretty big and bulky. more

Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Hi there, Colorado owners. Then your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Voyager proportional Brake Controller. This is a proportional brake controller so the inertia sensor inside will detect vehicle movement. So if you ever slam on the brake show your body like kind of slams forward the inertia sensor detects that, and it knows that it's your vehicle is slowing down based on that. And it uses that along with your adjustment controls to give you the best breaking performance at the back. This is a very simple brake controller beyond the adjustment for a level and the output control. more

Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Instructor Hi there, Colorado owners. Today on your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's P3 proportional trailer brake controller. What's nice about these proportional brake controllers is you get a much more natural braking, 'cuz when you hit the brake pedal it detects that your vehicle is, it can feel that move in, and then the slowing down movement. The inertia sensor detects that and it uses that to determine how intense to apply the brakes to help match your vehicle. You do still have your options for setting your power. We've got a maximum being 14, and then you can go all the way down with it. more

This brake controller has all the features of a premium proportional brake controller but doesn't have the giant mess underneath your dash with your typical brake controllers. You've got a large control module box and everything's inside that box there and you mount it here on the lower parts of your dash. And I'm a pretty tall guy. Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller here on a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. So, this is what our brake controller looks like installed. Now, this may be a little bit different than what you're normally used to for brake controllers, because this particular unit actually installs in between the trailer connector on the vehicle and the trailer connector for the trailer. So, most other brake controllers are gonna have a physical device mounted in your dash, which is definitely gonna take up some leg room, and it also requires drilling. The Curt Echo, however, is gonna be a nice, neat, contained package which installs in line between your trailer connectors. So, I would say, aside for instances where you're towing every day, the Curt Echo is gonna be a great brake controller for you. more

Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller. The main thing that really separates this brake controller from many of the traditional style brake controllers like this is a couple of things. One, it's going to be really small and two, you're going to be able to pretty much mount this anywhere that you want and on a lot of today's newer modern vehicles, that dash space is really limited and can be really challenging to find a good spot to mount a brake controller like this that's out of the way, but yet still easy to use.There are other brake controllers that are similar in the design of this one and most of our customers specifically compare this one to the Redarc. I personally like this one a little bit better than the Redarc and that's because behind our knob here, there's going to be nothing behind it as compared to the Redarc, behind the knob, there's going to be a connector that comes out quite a ways. So, you're still somewhat limited on where you can mount that Redarc because you're going to have to have room behind the panel for that connector to fit. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Trailer Brake Controller. This works for 1, up to 4 axles. The part number is 90885.Now, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 is a really good choice when it comes to brake controllers. It offers proportional braking, which in my opinion, is the safest braking that we have available with brake controllers; versus the time delayed systems, which just have a general ramp into which the power we're going to be applied to the brakes when you hit them. This brakes in relation to the force that you're actually exerting on your pedal. So if you slam on your brakes very quickly, you're going to get your braking force very quickly at a higher amount. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller for one to three axles, part number TK90160. So here's where our Primus IQ looks like when it's fully installed. Now it is a proportional brake controller, which means it's gonna apply our trailer brakes in the same intensity and at the same time that we apply the brakes in our vehicle. Now what our trailer brake controller is going to do is it's going to take the signal from our brake pedal, so when we press on it, it's gonna take that signal, following the wires, and it's gonna send it out to 7-way at the back, and it's gonna send the proper signal from the back of our 7-way to our trailer to our brakes and have the proper signal, and the right adjustments of everything.Now the CR brake controller is going to let us know that the brake controller senses that the trailer is connected so just a quick glance down, we can know if we're connected properly or if there's any issues at the back. The button on top here is going to be for our boost setting, and we're gonna have three different boost settings. It's gonna be off, one, two, and three. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller for 1 to 4 axles. This is the proportional braking system, and it's going to be part number 90195. We'll go ahead and plug our trailer into our 7-way connector. With our trailer plugged in you can see that it's not reading out anything. You can use that manual switch here on the bottom and that's going to apply brake to our trailer. You can adjust these. If you want to set your power level you just go over here to the up and down arrow, and you can go down or up as you choose. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado- Video
Today on our 2005 Chevy Colorado, we'll be installing the Takonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller, part number TK90160. With this brake controller, we will be using the universal 7-pin wiring kit, part number ETBC7. We'll start at the rear of the vehicle. On this particular vehicle, there was already a 4-way trailer connector installed. We will begin by finding a location to mount he 7-way and 4-way trailer connector. On this particular, we we're able to mount the bracket just under the bumper edge. To mount the 7- and 4-way trailer connector bracket to the bumper, we used 2 self-tapping screws. To make things easier, we will go ahead and make some of our wire connections on the table before we install the 7- and 4-way trailer connector up on the vehicle. more
